Claire Cotterill MosaicsClaire Cotterill has won national awards for her educational projects. She has a long history of working in collaboration with others in education, community and public art environments. She has full public liability insurance and an enhanced dbs disclosure certificate.

The history of mosaic art is rich and fertile and has roots in ancient Greek, Roman and Islamic culture. Designing and putting together a mosaic in a group setting, requires careful collaboration and releases an individual's creative potential in a way that is unique to the form.

Producing mosaics is an ideal and cost-effective activity for schools and community organisations.

'We loved having an artist in school and were very excited to learn all about mosaics and make one of our own. It was fun to make, I can see my own and my friends designs in it and we enjoy playing on it every playtime - it's great ! '

' We were studying mosaics as part our curriculum project on the Romans. It was wonderful for the pupils to have some direct experience of mosaic making, which they could relate to our topic. They particularly loved the wonderful range of coloured tiles and were amazed at the end result of their efforts and proud to show the rest of the school. Our mosaic is now in pride of place for all to appreciate, thanks Claire for such an exciting project and you're enthusiasm and patience in working with our children'

'We wanted something a little different to enhance the development of our outdoor learning area. We asked Claire to come in and develop creative ideas with our classes, which she then used directly to develop a mosaic design which all our children helped to construct. The children loved it, it was like creating a huge jigsaw, every pupil involved in some manner with it's development. The final result looks wonderful and enhances our learning environment, colourful and inviting to our pupils – well done Claire, great working with you ...'
